Senior Consultant

Alison Ames has more than thirty years' experience in the classical music business. During 25 years at Deutsche Grammophon she had six assignments ranging from secretary to label director in the US, and as executive producer for such artists as Leonard Bernstein, Pierre Boulez, André Previn, the Emerson Quartet, Orpheus, Gil Shaham and others, becoming fluent in German along the way. She earned her BA in English and art history from Virginia's Hollins University, and studied French and art history at the Sorbonne and Ecole du Louvre in Paris. After college she traveled the Mississippi on a raft. And after leaving the record business, she studied violin-making at the North Bennet Street School in Boston. Her first public relations job was at the New York Public Library.
